How is the Balancing Essence AZ 20 different from the AZ 15?

The AZ 20 contains a higher concentration of azelaic acid (20%) compared to the AZ 15 (15%). The AZ 20 is suited for those who have already tried the 15% version and want to step up their routine for more noticeable complexion-refining results. If you are new to azelaic acid, we recommend starting with the AZ 15.

How do I use this azelaic acid essence in my routine?

Apply a small amount after cleansing and toning, before your moisturizer. Gently pat into the skin and allow to absorb. Start with evening use to allow your skin to adjust, then increase frequency as comfortable. Always follow with broad-spectrum SPF in your morning routine.

Is this essence suitable for sensitive skin?

Azelaic acid is generally well-tolerated, but the 20% concentration is higher and may not be suitable for very sensitive skin. If you have reactive skin, we recommend starting with our 5% or 15% versions first. Patch-test before full application.

Can I use this with niacinamide or vitamin C?

Yes. Azelaic acid combines well with niacinamide, which can help further support skin texture and balance. With vitamin C, apply vitamin C first (morning) and this essence separately (evening) to minimize potential irritation from combining multiple actives at once.
