What Retinol concentration is best for beginners?

Start with 0.1% Retinol (Serum or Lotion) if you are new to Retinol. Begin 2–3 times per week and gradually increase to daily use as your skin adjusts. Higher concentrations (1%, 2%) are for experienced Retinol users only.

Why should Retinol be used at night only?

Retinol breaks down in UV light and can increase photosensitivity. Always use it at night and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning during treatment.

Does Retinol cause skin purging?

Yes, initial purging (temporary increase in breakouts or dryness) can occur in the first 2–4 weeks as Retinol accelerates cell turnover. Start slowly and keep skin well-moisturized to minimize this.

Can I use Retinol with Niacinamide or Hyaluronic Acid?

Yes. Niacinamide helps buffer Retinol irritation and is an excellent pairing. Hyaluronic Acid applied after Retinol helps maintain hydration. Avoid combining with AHAs/BHAs in the same step.

How long should I wait between high-concentration Retinol applications?

For 1% and 2% Pure Retinol Oils, wait at least 3 days between applications initially. As your skin builds tolerance, you can gradually increase frequency.
